Our mission is to improve the legal experience for all with thoughtfully designed digital products.
Our Story
Theory and Principle is the premier product design and development firm for the legal industry. Our designers, developers, strategists, and product managers have deep knowledge in both legal technology and the possibilities of emerging technologies. Together, we’ve built some of the most highly acclaimed digital products in the legal industry.
Founded in 2018 by former lawyer and legal technology veteran Nicole Bradick, Theory and Principle emerged as a certified women-owned enterprise.
The market at the time had no agency focused entirely on serving the legal industry. Bradick had already been building products for years at a previous company and saw that the market was ready for further specialization. Since then, Theory and Principle has been engaged by clients globally to improve the delivery of legal services, the justice system, lawyer efficiency, legal education, and access to justice for all.
In early 2025, Theory and Principle joined forces with Factor, the market leader in Integrated Law. As part of Factor, we continue our founding mission while expanding our reach to corporate legal departments. The partnership brings together our design excellence and legal tech expertise with Factor's deep understanding of user needs and AI capabilities, positioning us to lead the next wave of legal technology innovation.
Our Team
We believe that the difficult challenges facing the legal industry require an experienced, multi-disciplinary team to produce beautifully designed, high quality products. Meet the team who makes it happen.
